Demant OneApp
My role: UX Designer | Product Designer
User Need
Hearing aids users expects the following:
get more benefits from hearing solution by greatly enhancing the ability to control HA settings from the app,
visually see the benefits of the hearing aids,
better user experiences for the hearing solution,
get access to possible additional experiences by tapping into other eco systems via the app.
Project Golas and Design Challenge
The project aimed to create an app empowering individuals with hearing aids to control their devices easily. Our objectives included:
improving user satisfaction,
simplifying the control process,
enhancing overall independence and quality of life.
This meant that in this project our challange was to:
combine Remote Control and Remote Visit apps to create a “one stop shop” for Demant end users, expecting more than just better hearing,
design new navigation and information architecture covering all existing features taking into account user research findings,
redesign every feature according to lessons learned from marketing feedback, user research and most up-to-date design standards.
Design Process - Early Stages
Design process kicked off from value proposition workshops with stakeholders which with help from red routes exercise helped us prioritise features.
Design Process - Later Stages
Once navigation structure and priorities were decided, I was able to move on with Design System and right after having the DS fundaments - high fidelity mock-ups presented in a form of user flows which improves communication with stakeholders and developers.
Result
Post-launch data analysis and user feedback indicated positive outcomes and impactful results. The app significantly improved users' ability to control their hearing aids, providing a seamless and personalised experience. Increased user satisfaction, improved hearing aid management, and enhanced independence were among the observed benefits.
Throughout the project, I encountered challenges that helped me grow as a UX designer. Overcoming obstacles, such as addressing diverse user needs and ensuring accessibility, provided valuable lessons. The project reinforced the importance of empathising with users, conducting thorough research, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
